Vintage pineapple and cherry cake

This is my very first signature bake from the FOXTEL show, The Great Australian Bake Off!

This classic vanilla cake is layered with retro tinned pineapple and iconic Amarena cherries. The cake is decorated with vintage piped buttercream, and topped with my absolute favourite: Maraschino cherries!

This vintage pineapple and cherry cake is my very first signature bake from the FOXTEL show, The Great Australian Bake Off!

I am an old soul who loves all things vintage. I love vintage clothes and collect vintage aprons. Our home is full of vintage furniture and art. I have a vast collection of West German vintage pottery – my gorgeous mum shares my love and often goes hunting for me. Mum and I also collect vintage cookbooks (of course!). I love vintage Australian Women’s Weekly cookbooks from the 1970s.

My cake flavours are often very vintage too. This cake is based on the pineapple and cherry upside-down cake. Which features on page 32 of the Australian Women’s Weekly “100 Favourite Cakes” published in 1972.

Please watch me make this cake on The Great Australian Bake Off – Tuesdays at 8.30pm on FOXTEL and available On Demand.

And, if you want to bake along, the full recipe has been published. You can find it here! X

This is only one of a range of vintage recipes on my website – many based on Women’s Weekly vintage recipes. Check out the full range of recipes here!
